for you! Tips for lowering your trans fat intake: 1. Choose liquid vegetable oils, or choose a soft tub margarine that contains little or no trans fats. 2. Avoid eating commercially prepared baked foods such as cookies, pies, donuts, snack foods, fast foods and processed foods. To be safe, assume that all such products contain trans fats unless labeled otherwise. 3. When foods with (partially) hydrogenated oils can not be avoided, choose products that list the partially hydrogenated oils …
tell me if you know, i used to be able to eat meat when i was young, now it seem when i eat meat i get sick. even eggs. cheese i am fine with and fish also. i can eat anything else and feel fine. i eat lots of plant based foods.
I agree.
This video is very informative , thanks so much for uploading it
There’s no doubt that coconut oils a good fat. But I disagree that animal fats are unhealthy. Many groups of humans freely at raw fats from animals without heart disease for instance. Most of the fat that ends up clogging arteries is not saturated fat but polyunsatures.
What they mean to say is that animal-based saturated oils/fats are harmful to our health.
Vegetable-based saturated fats (such as coconut oil) are actually very healthy.
Animal-based oils and fats are not really good for us as they clog our arteries.
Unsaturated (vegetable-based!) oils such as olive oil are much healthier.
However, don’t heat these unsaturated oils to high temperatures as they easily break down into carcinogenic compounds when heated.
The big problem here is that at one point they compare trans fats to saturated fats and say both are bad. That’s complete nonsense. Saturated fats are healthy fats. Trans fats are bad fats. There is no way you can even equate the two.
Im sure. it’s still pretty bad for you though. =/ taken from wikipedia:
“Hydrolyzed vegetable protein, or HVP, is produced by boiling cereals or legumes, such as soy, corn, or wheat, in hydrochloric acid and then neutralizing the solution with sodium hydroxide. The acid hydrolyzes, or breaks down, the protein in vegetables into their component amino acids.”
You sure? My mom is an expert when it comes to food and food safety and she told me ANYTHING Hydrogenated or Hydrolyzed is basically the main ingredient to trans fat, giving it all the negative aspects…but then again she could be wrong, or I took Hydrogenated anything too seriously…
I agree with everything you said, but hydrolyzed soy protein and partially hydrogenated oil are two different things.
Am I having amnesia! I think I’m forgetting in Kindergarten when they told me that 0 actually meant any number from 0 to 0.49!!! Okay, that’s what the FDA and 100s of food companies learned, any they’re smart…right?
I love how the FDA lies to us…they ban marijuana, something less harmful than alcohol, and allow trans fat, a carcinogen, heart disease causer, EXTREME obese causing agent… and they make it COMPLICATED AS HELL! If there is less than 0.5 grams of trans (including 0.49, I’m not kidding, companies can do that) they can say 0g of trans fat…now 0 is 0, not <0.5…you have to do the tedious ingredients check for Partially Hydrogenated Soybean Oil, or Hydrolyzed Soybean PROTEIN!!!
I lost 113lbs.
btw because its says 0 trans gram fat per SERVING on the label DOESNT MEAN IT ISNT IN THERE read the label like those mission crappy flour tourtias they have hydrogenation crap in it, i eat corn tortaias now carefull some noobs put hydrogenated in it
i dont eat this crap hydrogenation food no more i stopped over a year ago i have lost 40lbs. this crap kills us! sue the fda there dumb for allowing it.
whao horsie…time to check labels
Google “The Great Con-ola” article written by biochemist Mary Enig (one of the first to warn about trans-fats). All vegetable oils (corn, soy, canola, etc), which are found in most food products these days, are highly processed (and the process is disgusting). It’s no wonder they’re linked to cancer, especially breast cancer.
Guess we’re learning the hard way to go back to natural fats — organic butter, cold pressed extra virgin olive oil, etc.
that’s what they want you to do. Don’t let them!
Definitely eating strictly organic food, with nothing added in. I swear I’m going to have to become vegetarian, unless I can find a local butcher. Shall have to go shopping and see what I can do. Why are they not telling us at school, what is in our food? All they tell us to eat less than 1500 calories a day, but what good is that going to do to you, when people are ingesting low calorie but full of toxins meals?
we’re consuming this stuff & it’s almost impossible to get away from it. u find it in practically everything. our food is controlled by the system. nowadays, u find few people who grow everything they eat & have a well in their backyard. It’s almost impossible not to be controlled by the system. even bread has been processed to some degree, to preserve its “freshness” all this foreign substance we intake, no wonder our brains get confused, enter..modern day mystery illnesses!
“My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge.”
Hosea 4:6 (KJV)
“Why do you spend money for what is not bread, and your wages for what does not satisfy?
Listen carefully to Me, and eat what is good, and
let your soul delight itself in abundance.”
Isaiah 55:2 (NKJV)
“With all thy getting, get understanding.”
Proverbs 4:7 (KJV)
It’s funny cause as I was growing up everyone was saying, “eat margerine not butter.” Now look. Margerine is the worst thing you can put in your body. But I am used to it now, so I still buy it.
Weird.

For the Australian’s watching this vid…trans fatty acids are vary scarce in our food industry. Saturated fat is a much bigger problem due to the shear amount present in foods in comparison to tFA’s. Other processes are used to create solid lipids, such as lipid fractionation / interesterification, and hydrogenation without tFA production. I would be suprised if most other countries aren’t similar. Don’t be lead by misinformation
Its getting easier for me to stop eating some of these foods, because alot of them have a chemical like taste or they are too sweet. I am old enough to remember old natural butter taste to cakes. I can;t eat the new stuff.
This sucks!!!Almost EVERYTHING has trans fat!
